Benefits of breathwork
The easiest way to understand breathwork and what it can do for you is splitting it out into three key areas: physical, mental and emotional.
One thing to note: some people enter their sessions with a main focus on one aspect, while others look for a more rounded experience. Either of these approaches work – it all depends on what you want to get out of it.

Physical
Optimise lung capacity, improve your respiratory function, enhance overall cardiovascular health
Energy and vitality. Increased oxygen leads to better circulation, and slower breathing facilitates this.
Immune boost. The more oxygen we bring in, the healthier our cells become – and our immune system strengthens as a result.
Lower blood pressure. Oxygen dilates the blood vessels, which in turn helps our blood pressure to reduce.
Calm the nervous system. Deep breathing helps activate the part of our nervous system that calms us, as well as regulating bodily functions.
Relax the mind. Being aware of your breath enhances your presence in the moment, something that naturally helps the busy mind to slow down.
Improved productivity. Use breath to anchor your attention as distractions become difficult to ignore, and concentration becomes harder to maintain.
Mental
Enhance clarity of thought, sharpen focus, improve ability to be present in the moment
Emotional
Anxiety reduction, personal transformation, unlocking deeper layers of emotion and trauma
Reduce anxiety. Through engaging different parts of the nervous system, breathwork helps the body shift from ‘fight or flight’ to ‘rest and digest’.
Release of emotion. The sense of safety generated through conscious breathing can help trapped emotions, or unresolved trauma, release from the body.
Personal growth. Sometimes, our sense of growth is held back by a limited sense of belief, our inner critic or internal fears. Breathwork helps us reconnect to ourselves, and begin to overcome these feelings to achieve our goals, desires and dreams.
